And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and His name one.” Zechariah 14:9

The Kingdom Begins After the Tribulation and the Second Coming

A. The Seven‑Year Tribulation Precedes the Kingdom

    • Daniel’s prophecy of “Seventy Weeks” (Daniel 9:24–27) describes a final seven‑year period determined upon Israel and Jerusalem.
    • Jesus calls this the “Great Tribulation” (Matthew 24:15–21).
    • It ends with unparalleled judgments upon the earth and the defeat of evil world systems (Revelation 6–18).“Immediately after the tribulation of those days… they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:29‑30

B. The Rapture occurs at the trumpet blast opening of the Seventh Seal

    • The dead in Christ are resurrected first and then those alive in Christ raptured. (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
    • The rapture and the wrath of God poured out on the unrepentant occur simultaneously. (Revelation 6:16)
    • The wrath of God is the Trumpet ( 8 & 9) and Bowl judgements (Rev. 16)All are glorified and reign with the King as co‑rulers in His Kingdom.

C. The Return of Christ — The Great Transition

The visible, bodily Second Coming of Christ marks the end of this age and the beginning of the Kingdom age.

Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him.” Revelation 1:7
And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives.” Zechariah 14:4

His return destroys the gathered armies at Armageddon (Revelation 19:11–21) and rescues Israel from annihilation (Zechariah 12:10; 14:3–5).

The Judgment and Purging of the Nations

Immediately following His return, Christ conducts several judgments that prepare the world for His righteous rule:

A. Judgment of Israel

I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.Ezekiel 20:37–38
The Messiah separates believing, faithful Israelites from rebels, fulfilling the New Covenant’s promises (Jeremiah 31:31–34).

B. Judgment of the Gentile Nations (Sheep and Goats)

When the Son of man shall come in His glory… before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another.Matthew 25:31‑46

    • Sheep (righteous) — those who aided and honoured Christ’s brethren (Church & Israel) during the Tribulation — enter the Kingdom in mortal bodies.
    • Goats (wicked) — those who rejected Him — are cast into everlasting fire. This judgment cleanses the nations before the Kingdom begins.

The Binding of Satan

And I saw an angel come down from heaven… and he laid hold on the dragon… and bound him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:1–2

Satan, the deceiver, is imprisoned in the bottomless pit for the Millennium.
Without demonic influence, the world experiences true peace under Christ’s rule.

The Coronation and Enthronement of the King in Jerusalem

After purging and resurrection, Christ is enthroned in Zion:

Yet have I set My King upon My holy hill of Zion.Psalm 2:6
At that time they shall call Jerusalem The throne of the LORD.Jeremiah 3:17

The nations will recognize His rule and come to worship:

All nations shall flow unto it… for out of Zion shall go forth the law.Isaiah 2:2–3
The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ.Revelation 11:15

The 1,000‑Year Reign Begins

A. The Duration

And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.Revelation 20:4

Mentioned six times in Revelation 20:2–7, the number isn’t symbolic — it denotes a real span of 1,000 years of divine rule on this present earth.

B. The Nature of That Rule

    • Righteous: “With righteousness shall He judge the poor. Isaiah 11:4
    • Peaceful: “Nation shall not lift up sword against nation.” Micah 4:3
    • Prosperous: “The wilderness… shall blossom as the rose.” Isaiah 35:1
    • Visible: “The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.” Isaiah 40:5

Christ’s rod of iron ensures justice; His glorified saints administer His policies across the nations (Revelation 2:26–27; 20:4).

The Kingdom Ends with Final Testing and Renewal

    • After 1,000 years, Satan is released to test the nations one last time (Revelation 20:7–8).
    • A final rebellion (“Gog and Magog”) rises and is immediately destroyed by fire (Revelation 20:9).
    • Then comes the Great White Throne Judgment of the wicked (Revelation 20:11–15).
    • God creates a new heaven and a new earth — the eternal state (Revelation 21–22).
